Vegetarian Food at Shanti Shanti

If you're looking for a place where you can just chill out while listening to the lake's water lapping against the shore, look no farther than Shanti Shanti. This peaceful spot next to Bar Sublime (go right from the Pana dock) has been in business for more than a decade. There is now a Shanti Shanti II as well, opposite Colegio Betel on Seventh Avenue.

The Sanskrit word 'shanti' means peace, tranquility or bliss. This is what you'll find at Shanti Shanti. On a sunny day, grab a table underneath the lemon tree next to the water at Shanti Shanti I or in the spacious courtyard at Shanti Shanti II and find your inner peace.

Israeli and Mediterranean Cuisine

Of course you can't live on inner peace alone. Both branches of Shanti Shanti offer a huge variety of tasty meals. Their specialty is Israeli cuisine such as Falafel, Shakshuka, Hummus and Baba Ganoush.

However, the menu also includes old favorites like nachos, burgers, burritos, quesadillas, pasta and curry. There is a great selection of crunchy salads and comforting soups, and if you have a sweet tooth, you'll definitely want to try the chocolate cake.

Breakfast options vary from granola or cornflakes to more filling omelets or huevos rancheros. In addition to the a la carte dishes, you have the option of daily specials. For breakfast, there is a selection of veggies and fruit with eggs, bread and coffee for only Q25.

Lunch specials usually include Falafel and Hummus as well as a glass of refreshing lemonade for Q27. At night, you can enjoy a spread with steamed veggies, beans, rice, bread, soup, salad and lemonade for Q35. Also check out the Israeli special, which for Q60 includes falafel, chicken schnitzel, pita and a host of other dishes.

Shanti Shanti I and II are open from 7 AM-11 PM.
